Gravitational Lensing and Interstellar

Image
Detailed calculations for the gravitational lensing(GL) and many applications of GL. Applications that involve the movie Interstellar is also discussed in the context of GL. For the people mainly interested in the  Interstellar  applications; you can learn several things from the last pages of this presentation and also my other paper  Interstellar, Role of Fiction in Science and Technology .

Sweden and the Cold War

Image
I was shocked when I saw a huge Volvo commercial billboard in the central metro station of Stockholm stating " Volvo made by TURKEY "!  It turned out that each one of the stations was actually carrying other versions of it like "made by Italy, France" and etc.  It was the time that most of the Swedish people were anxious (some of them still are) about the immigrant situation that was going on in the several parts of Sweden. However, this is a nation that is inspired and powered by the change itself (about any sociological, philosophical, scientific topic). Many countries can learn from Sweden about any topic you chose, but if you focus on the political and diplomatic strategies that we saw from Sweden, especially the ones applied during the Cold War, it is nearly impossible to ignore the simplicity and the beauty of these decisions.  What an outstanding way of respecting nature and human, it is the "Volvo Way" . They actually use this term "

Internal conversion experiment

This is an old report(one of many) that we wrote together with my Swedish lab partner Filip Backman during the nuclear physics spring course at KTH. Internal conversion is one of the most important experiments in which you can observe many phenomena involving electron's ( unexpected ) spectrum by simply examining the decay of the Cesium 237 . It was fun and at the same time very challenging experiment. This report itself can be very instructive for the ones that are interested in nuclear physics experiments.
