Fire Ant Pain - New poem

 

FIRE ANT PAIN

A wanderer wanders through the day

dream the daydreaming all the way

things that can happen, sure he hoped to happen

the thing that can’t happen indeed might never happen

 

Wanderer daydreaming he may

be in a dream should he stay

inside the dreamlike quantity in which he is falling he

can't breathe notoriously inside this dream he created

the daydream who is he?

 

A fire ant falls to his arm suddenly

when the dream reaches insanity

fired the fire all the way

through the veins, dream

the daydreams ended abruptly

he wakes with the fire is he awake

or daydream was the real Did he fall

a sleep again inside this loop

in the daydream found to conserve this wound.

 

On fire all this space

annihilates the daydream

where it came.
