Exploring Star-Planet-Disk Connections Conference | 14–17 October 2025 | University of Tartu Library, Tartu, Estonia
The international conference brings scientists who study the relationships between stars and planets to TartuToday the 14th. In October, the international conference "Exploring Star-Planet-Disk Connections" started in Tartu, which brings together scientists from more than twenty countries, in addition to Europe, also from Asia, Africa and America.
The complex relationships between stars, planets, and planetary disks are under consideration - questions of how planetary systems are born and what factors shape their diversity.Ariel, LAMOST and 4MOST data of already working and upcoming large observatory instruments and programs will also be discussed - these telescopes collect a huge amount of star spectrum data from different regions of the Galaxy, on the basis of which you can study for example the chemical compositions, movements and ages of stars. The conference in Tartu celebrates the culmination of the international cooperation project EXOHOST. The aim of the project is to make the Tartu observatory a leading center for the Nordic and Baltic countries of this field. During the project, the scientists have improved their research methods, applied machine learning to analyze large-scale observational data and established strong links with Europe's leading astronomy centers.
